On 14th June we had a surprise international guest speaker! Mario diGesu from the Rotary Club of Truth or Consequences in District 5520, New Mexico, has been travelling after attending the Rotary International Convention in Melbourne, and contacted us to attend our meeting while he was in town. With no other speaker planned for that evening, we invited him to address us, which he very kindly did!
While at the RI Convention, Mario manned a booth about the Don’t Meth With Us Foundation, as his Rotary Club has adopted this as a project. Their goal is to develop a growing network of service organizations in a unified front against drug abuse. They bring together business and civic leaders to use their skills to empower youth in the community, breaking the cycle of drug addiction.
