This Global Grant project by the Rotary Club of Madurai Innovators saw the renovation of existing buildings, restoration of heritage buildings with all modern infrastructure to the classrooms, and built new toilet blocks at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School and the Government Coed Higher Secondary School.
Although buildings are not usually covered by Global Grants any more, the Rotary Foundation makes an exception for toilet blocks, since these are essential to facilitate student attendance, especially by girls.
This project has been completed, and an official inauguration was held on 29 October 2021. Our club is mentioned on a plaque that was installed as part of the inauguration.
