A number of Peace Pole ceremonies have been conducted throughout the first half of December to officially unveil the Peace Poles at their respective schools.
Ronniet Orlando, Charter President Di Collins, Past President Simone Collins and President Fiona Tremlett have been attending the ceremonies, which will be repeated annually around World Peace Day on 21st September.
Each pole has “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in 4 different languages of the school’s choosing, one on each side. Each school has selected English, Noongar, and two other languages relevant to their school community.
The Canning Vale Primary School Peace Pole includes a remembrance of Past Rotary International Director Ken Collins, who was Patron of the school. Each year the graduating class provides the school with a gift, and the 2022 Year 6 cohort gifted a peace garden to go with the Peace Pole, incorporating a bird bath and succulents.
