On 25th January 2023, Freshwater Bay Rotarian Sheila Cheng conducted a three hour practical session on Mooncake Making during her visit to Perth. This year, the Mid Autumn Festival falls on 29th September but as Sheila will be Singapore then, she took the opportunity to do a hands on session while in Perth for the lunar new year.
The Mid Autumn Festival is a very important annual celebration in Asia. Sheila conducts Mooncake Making annually during her volunteering sessions at different centres in Singapore.
The ingredients are not readily available in Perth at the moment, so Sheila brought them with her from Singapore.
