22nd April 2023 marked the end of the Ramadan fasting period of our Muslim friends. In support of the festive season, Sheila baked crunchy oatmeal cookies at a centre which is for the intellectually disabled, with LAU purchasing the ingredients.
The cookies were baked without lard as respect to the Muslim staff and members, and Sheila excluded nuts in case anyone is allergic to them.
Sheila spent 6 hours at the centre on 20th April, baking about 140 cookies. They were distributed to two different centres as blessings to the members and staff during their private in-house celebration.
Sheila and Lau wished them “Selamat Hari Raya” which means have a “Happy Celebration.”
