We have received a Rotary Foundation District Grant for $3,000 to purchase items for the Ma Sevana residential care facility for teen mothers and babies in Sri Lanka.
The girls residing at Ma Sevana, who are as young as 12 years of age, are victims of sexual abuse and have fallen pregnant as a result of rape or incest.
The grant will be used to purchase vitamin / iron tablets, sanitary pads, pregnancy frocks, bed jackets, slippers, food items etc. They will be delivered by our club member Nishi Galhenage when she travels to Sri Lanka.
