Our 13th annual Birthday / Christmas function was held at the Holiday Inn City Centre on 18th December, 2021.
With over six decades as an entertainer, Johnny Young was a fabulous speaker and performed a number of his hit songs. It is the 50th Anniversary of Young Talent Time this year, a top rating TV show which ran for 16 years. John has an interest in music and dementia and happily agreed to come along to our club because of the projects we are carrying out in this area.
The MC was VP Di Collins, Loren Pratt did the Invocation, The Hon. Bob Nicholson the Toast to RI, Lee Tate introduced speaker John Young, Assoc. Prof. Hamid Sohrabi updated us on the dementia projects and PP Simone Collins recognised the club’s 13th birthday.
Many comments received were that it was the best event ever, and whilst we have had many outstanding events, this was definitely up there amongst the top.
